So cool that you highlighted citizen science at NASA! Going through all of the project pages can be daunting, so a couple of years ago I produced a bunch of 90-sec videos where each project leader explained what their project did and why it was cool. A lot of them are on the NASA project pages, but there's also a playlist at a portal called SciStarter.org that has them. Also, FYI, SciStarter has all of the NASA projects, plus over a thousand others from scientists in labs all over the world. So that's a great resource (I used to write their newsletters and produce media for them). Here's the NASA playlist:
